The history of the New York Giants dates back to 1925. The Giants were one of five other franchises that joined the NFL in 1925 and are the only one of the five still in existence. The Giants eight NFL Championships ranks third overall in the NFL. Team colors are blue, red, gray and white and its legal corporate name is the New York Football Giants, Inc.

Team nicknames include G-Men, Big Blue and the Jints. The New York Giants and New York Jets, in an unprecedented arrangement, share the same football stadium and alternate game weekends. The New York Giants were founded by Tim Mara in 1925 and ownership of the New York Giants is controlled by the Mara and Tisch families.

MetLife Stadium is the home of the New York Giants and it opened in 2010. MetLife Stadium currently seats 82,566 fans. The New York Giants are a member of the National Football Conference of the National Football League and compete in the NFC East division.
