The history of the Tennessee Titans dates back to 1960, when the Titans began play as the Houston Oilers, a charter member of the American Football League. The Tennessee Titans were founded by and are currently owned by Bud Adams, who relocated the Oilers from Houston to Nashville in 1997.

LP Field is the home of the Tennessee Titans and it opened in 1999. LP Field currently seats 69,143 fans. The Tennessee Titans are a member of the American Football Conference of the National Football League and compete in the AFC South Division. The Tennessee Titans won the AFC Championship in 1999 and lost Super Bowl XXXIV to the Rams on January 30, 2000.
