The Pittsburgh Steelers were founded by Art Rooney, Sr., who paid a $2,500 franchise fee to the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise, and are still owned by the Rooney Family. Heinz Field is the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers and it opened in 2001. Heinz Field currently seats 65,050. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a member of the American Football Conference of the National Football League and compete in the AFC North Division.
