The history of the Indianapolis Colts dates back to 1953. The Indianapolis Colts were founded by Carroll Rosenbloom in Baltimore and traded in 1972 to Robert Irsay for the Rams. In 1984, Bob Irsay relocated the Colts to Indianapolis, thus the team became the Indianapolis Colts and is still owned by the Irsay Family. The RCA Dome is the home of the Indianapolis Colts and it opened in 1983. The RCA Dome currently seats 57,980. The Indianapolis Colts are a member of the American Football Conference of the National Football League and compete in the AFC South Division.
