The history of the Arizona Cardinals dates back to 1898 as the Morgan Athletic Club in Chicago, which makes the Cardinals the oldest, continuously operated professional football club in America. The Arizona Cardinals were purchased by Charles Bidwell, then a vice president of the Bears, in 1932 and the Cardinals have been owned by the Bidwell Family ever since. University of Phoenix Stadium is the home of the Arizona Cardinals and it opened in 2006. University of Phoenix Stadium currently seats 63,400. The Arizona Cardinals are a charter member of the National Football Conference of the National Football League and compete in the NFC West Division.
